Awassa is a town situated on the shores of Lake Awassa 1,708m above sea level in the Great Rift valley, almost 270km south of the capital of Addis Ababa. It is the capital of the Southern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples Region (SNNP). The city holds several major educational institutions and is home to approximately 300.000 inhabitants.

Hawassa Industrial Park, which is located at the outer parts of the city, has opened in 2017 and is the first in its kind in the country. It counts 1.3 million square meters whereof 300.000 square meters is factory space. The park is the cornerstone of the ambitious industrial plans of the Ethiopian government to become Sub-Saharan Africa’s hub for textile and garment manufacturing. The park will eventually provide employment to 110.000 workers, most of whom will be woman aged 18-35 coming from the wider region around Awassa.


We would like to organize a 1 or 2-weeks Summer School at Infolink University College in collaboration with an educational institution. The content of this Summer School will be compiled together with the Infolink University. The goal is to provide bachelor and master students with a program relevant for their professional development around topics such as: leadership & entrepreneurship, international business, project & quality management.

Content:   10 or 20 short study courses in leadership & entrepreneurship, international business, project & quality management.


Ultimate goal is to start a partnership between the participating educational institution and Infolink University College based on knowledge transfer, cultural exchange, capacity building and development. The collaboration could exist out of joint research, development projects for teaching and research and facilitating exchange programs for students.
